And then, one day.....

The Pond was gone. We had a terrific storm the night before, wind and torrential rains. So much water came down the brook that it blew out the beaver dam.

We are looking at it as an opportunity. We'll fix the underpinnings of the dock. The water weeds will die off. When the mud dries out and there's some snow on the ground we'll use the jonboat as a sledge and haul materials to the break. Then one day in early spring we'll fill the break in the dam. Maybe the beavers will help us.

The Pond will return.
