skrbl: easy to share online whiteboard
So I was browsing around at Furl early this morning. I clicked on “Most Popular” and ran across a pretty cool thing called skrbl. This is an online, interactive whiteboard that you can share (or not).
I tried it out. You don’t have to register to use it, just start skrbl-ing and then send the URL of your whiteboard to whomever you want to interact with. If you do register you can share documents, password protect (good for teachers) and things like that.
I want to see how it works when there really is two people working on it, so I emailed my sister-in-law, she’s always up for this kind of experiment, and actually I just looked and she’s been in there already.

Thanks for sharing the cool link. I think that I might look more into the potential of this site, and others like it. I am thinking that it would be nice if I could more effectively help my students online with their math assignments. How cool would it be to have a live chat where I could watch how a student is solving a problem, and then I could “draw” comments when needed. True online video would be another option. However, with video I can not write on their papers and not all students have a a web cam. Thanks again.
Great application Luke! Another consideration is that with dial-up cams and video aren’t an option (I have dial-up at home so I know) and skrbl works just fine with dial-up.
But your idea of helping with math problems.. I like that!
