Tool: Wiki
I spent some time this morning over at Wikispaces. I have, as I said, been very intrigued by the idea of collaborative learning or collaborative space that the wiki offers. I didn’t like pbwiki much, for one thing it offers too much control in that you have to give people the password to edit things. What if you wanted a wiki that anyone at all could contribute to, without having to ask you for a password. The web equivalent of a wall full of grafiti. Yet some pages, you would want to lock so that no one could edit them? Well I took a project that my sister-in-law had in blog form and set it up as wiki and I think it would serve the project pretty well.
Take a look: http://fishercat.wikispaces.com/
If you are not signed in, an anonymous user, you can only upload images stored on the web. That seems a little odd. You also need to be signed in to lock or unlock pages or even to create a new page which again is not what I want. I want people to be able to create their own page. I’ll have to fiddle with it some more.
